Yellowknife

When photographer Bruce Edwards and I were in Yellowknife in 2008, we discovered dogsledding is a year-round tourist draw — even when there’s no snow on the ground.

Something about Canada’s Arctic captures imaginations and tourists — and, as the director of tourism and parks for the Northwest Territories told me in 2008, climate change seems to have drawn more interest: “Come see it before it disappears.”
